About the Event
Valtos presents: High Water Mark is the DJ/Live hybrid trio from Skye natives Daniel Docherty and Martyn MacDonald, joined by fiddle player Euan McLaughlin, expanding on the unique sound of their main project, Valtos. Known for blending traditional Gaelic folk with electronic music, Valtos has been making waves in both the folk and electronic scenes since their debut in 2021. With High Water Mark, they bring their distinctive sound, whilst sampling influences from artists like Bicep, Mylo, and Peatbog Faeries, while still incorporating Euan's masterful fiddle playing.
In this new project, Dan and Martyn focus on the DJ side, delivering driving electronic, beats,
while Euan adds traditional melodies through his fiddle, creating an energetic and dynamic experience that blends folk and dance music in a completely fresh way.
