January is usually a slow month in Knoydart with everyone recovering from New Year and enjoying some quiet time while the weather batters on - not this year! It has been all go at the hall with our workers putting in so many hours to keep the refurb moving along. Here is a wee update on what's been happening over the last couple of weeks.
Rendering the exterior ready for painting once the weather dries up a bit.
The Supporters Wall of Fame, featuring wooden bricks made from the old hall floor, was tested before the bricks will be laser cut with all our supporters names. The bricks will be showcased in the foyer and will be a lovely feature as you enter in to the hall.
The bathrooms and kitchen are ready for installation with wet wall, vinyl flooring and tiles all in place.
The dado rail was also made from the old hall floor and is looking fantastic as it wraps around the main hall. Taping and filling is complete ready for painting and we've also had an influx of deliveries this week including kitchen units, toilets, sinks and equipment to complete the heating installation.
With so many changes happening on a weekly basis we will try to provide an update every Sunday between now and completion.
Once again, thank you all for your continued support and of course to our local workers and Toby's team for their hard work and commitment to getting the refurb done. It wont be long now, and we're so excited to share our new hall with you in 2020.
